Size: upto 300 cm.

 

Key Features: Mostly dull greys and browns. Colonies may form large patches of reefs. Branches are cylindrical and commonly fuse. Growth-forms and corallite characters are extremely variable so much so that single reef patches are composites of distinct races.

 

Diet: Plankton, Zooxanthellae / Light

 

Habitat: This species is found in shallow, protected reef and lagoon environments, generally to depths of 30 m. This species forms monospecific stands in protected areas at medium depths.

 

Conservation status: Least Concern on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
